  ASTM International - Peer Review
Reviewed manuscript # BOOKS-2014-0029 entitled "Advances in Hydraulic Fracturing Fluids" for ASTM-Books. Peer-review is an integral part of the publication process. ASTM selects reviewers based on their internationally recognized expertise, demonstrable research abilities and experience, prior review experience and critical judgment of the subject matter. Reviewing papers for publication is perhaps the highest mark of respect bestowed upon a researcher. To be asked to review a scientific paper is an acknowledgment of a researcher’s superior knowledge and experience. The reviewer must take the responsibility upon himself/herself to judge the work for originality, accuracy, and relevance. This is no simple task in the sciences. When the paper is finally accepted for publication, it is an honor not only for the author but for the reviewers as well. December 2, 2014   Letter »»

Webinar: Fracking What Makes it Tick: Demystifying the Why's, Technology and Science behind Unconventional Oil and Shale Gas Extraction
The methods used to recover oil and gas resources from unconventional reserves, especially hydraulic fracturing, have always had a "black box" image. This is partly due to the knowledge about these methods, which occur thousands of feet below the surface, is generally controlled by specialists and engineers out of the reach of the public domain. To fill in this in this information gap, this conference focuses on the advanced technologies used to recovery oil and gas from oil formations and shale gas formations.
